Jen and Girish are SOOO married. :) They are good friends of mine, so it twas awesome to be able to photograph their day. They had both an Inidan ceremony in the morning and an American ceremony in the afternoon, so I'll be splitting their blog post into two separate posts so that I can really expand on each one. Man, it was such a fantastic day - long, but fantastic!
The Indian ceremony was really interesting. I've never seen one before, and this one was shorter than your traditional ceremony, but it was still pretty neat. For me, it seemed that the ceremony was so focused on hands...While it was happening, they would chant in Sanskrit and constantly be holding their hands in a certain position, hold something in their hands or put something onto the altar. That will probably be a theme that you'll notice throught the photographs.
Look for the American ceremony images soon! In the meantime, check out a few of Jen & Girish's Beloved session images here.
Spread the love! If you think this is neat, share it on the Facebooks!

Cheryl - They didn't walk around the fire? That's very unique to Hindu weddings. I love that they kept with the Indian tradition of the Bride in red, and she looks beautiful in the Sari!

Kristin - Hi Cheryl - Thanks for the comment! They did walk around the fire, I just didn't include a photograph of it here because it wasn't one of my favorites. :) Jen did look gorgeous in her sari, didn't she?
